Save a few bucks by making your own fabric spray . All you need is a 16 oz. bottle, fragrance oil, distilled water, and some form of alcohol. This can be rubbing alcohol or witch hazel (both have their own distinct smell, which will mix with the fragrance), or you can use vodka (no odor). Add 20-40 drops of fragrance oil into the spray bottle. Now add 2 cups of alcohol or witch hazel and 1 cup of water. Now shake and spray.
Lemongrass in pots throughout the home not only repels mosquitos, but it helps to relax you and ease headaches .
This might not be the best smelling solution; however it is very effective in removing burn marks in your oven or slow cooker. Onions have enzymes that are reactive with oxygen, which creates an acid that can dissolve grease. Cut an onion in half and gently heat it. Now rub the onion and watch the marks disappear.
One of the easiest ways to bring back life into your carpets and freshen up your entire home is with the use of essential oils.
Go to your local store, grab some baking soda. Make sure you get enough for all of your carpets. Now add about 20 drops of your favorite essential oil into the baking soda and mix it up good -- make sure there are no clumps. Next vacuum the area before applying the baking soda and essential oil solution (lemongrass is amazing). I usually let it sit overnight, but you don't have too.
Now vacuum it up and inhale the freshness of your carpets and your entire home. The baking soda literally sucks the odors right out of the carpet and not just cover the smell. It is also great as a preventative measure to make sure no fungus or bacteria get into your carpet, especially if the carpet was wet previously.
